I DO NOT recommend AAA pools for any kind of service. Jim Durkey came out last year in the early spring and gave us a very reasonable price for resurfacing our pool and replacing only some coping tiles that were clearly necessary. We were ready to move forward, but as he explained, the public pools, country club pools, etc. all take precedence over private pools. Fair enough. However, one shouldn’t have to chase down a contractor to firm up a timeframe, especially after not hearing from him at all in weeks. Needless to say, soon we were told they had run out of time to do our pool in the spring (so we did a temporary paint job ourselves to enjoy the pool for the summer) while waiting to hear from him after pool closures at the end of the summer season. Well, after a couple of months waiting to hear from him regarding scheduling our pool service for the after summer public pool closures, numerous phone calls, we finally tracked him down again. He then told us that we were looking at late fall and a lot was dependent on weather. And so we waited. Once again, (after many phone calls and left messages), he finally called us back to tell us they had gotten behind with all the other pools and repairs, and therefore couldn’t get to our pool. Period. So we left it open all winter, expecting, but really I guess hoping, to hear from Jim early this spring. Well, I guess the best predictor of future behavior is often past behavior. After numerous phone calls and leaving messages, Jim has stayed true to past behavior. Neither he nor anyone from his company has ever called us back. Now our pool, after sitting open all winter is looking brownish green and gross, and is still in need of the resurfacing. And once again, we must go hunting for a non-shady contractor that will be reliable, honest, and with a good work ethic to try and bring our pool up to date before summer rolls around again. Honestly, I don’t understand how someone like Jim Durkey runs a business, let alone, stays in business. Apparently, he’s doing well enough taking care of “ all the other pools” since I just saw one of his seemingly newer nice looking company vans on the road today. How ironic that there was clear as day advertising on the van offering pool refinishing, etc. Yet clearly, he is incapable of returning phone calls to even do the advertised work. Or maybe he just overextends himself greedily in anticipation of an open opportunity to fit in just one more pool. Shame on you, Jim Durkey. I honestly can’t remember a time I left a negative review for a company … But let’s just be clear ~ Buyer Beware when it comes to AAA Pool Services on Haygood Rd, Va Bch.!!!

They never have lifeguards. Pool is closed more than it is open because of it. No one cares. Seems they care about some properties more than others. They don’t even apologize just give you an oh well deal with it. What a joke. 3 years and you cannot improve your services you agree to supply. Do better.

AAA Pool Services, Mr. Jim Durkee and his crew provided an amazing service repairing our pool's tile, coping and bond beam. Additionally, AAA did a few other "minor" repairs along the way as they seemed necessary (and the pool was already drained) while staying within the initial estimate. We are extremely happy with the outstanding work Jim and his crew did. Thank you! We will certainly make contact with you again (though not too soon we hope)! Thanks for everything!

Jim & his crew made the very best of a bad situation. Bought a house where the pool inspector missed the skimmer that has been neglected & had failed. 3 days after closing the pool started losing a lot of water so after test & more test the problem was discovered. AAA came out & took all the right steps to make sure the damage was minimized & that the new skimmer was installed professionally & efficiently. Couldn’t be happier about the way things on their end were handled & definitely looking forward to the next pool season.

Please use this team to repair your pool, the great workers were happy to work for and with their boss Jim. It was 100 degrees hot!! They just worked to complete the job at hand. I enjoyed having my pool repaired. Nothing was missed. I even got more than I asked for. First class job.
