It’s so great to find a practice that is all about what American healthcare should be, but so often isn’t. I had a terribly painful pinched nerve in my neck that extended to my numb hand. My team gave me a steroid shot that relieved the symptoms in a few days, but stressed that physical therapy was a good option for me to manage the problem. Because physical therapy has been working well for me, they encouraged me to continue with that rather than opt for surgery. I very much appreciated the time they spent with me, the detailed explanations and kindness.
Where do I begin? My appointment was at 1:45, I wasn’t brought back until almost 2:30. I get in the room and the nurse has my MRI disc and the first thing that comes out of her mouth is “if you don’t have a reading report we aren’t seeing you.” Completely rude with zero regard to my time or understanding. I let her know that the only thing the office requested me to bring was the disc of the images. Message below: Hello Alexis! This is Joseph Spine Tampa. Please remember to bring your CD containing your images to your appointment. Thanks! Txt STOP to opt out I informed her that I have no idea what she’s talking about in regard to a reading report. And if it was necessary, why didn’t they tell me to bring it so I could be prepared? I’ve waited a month for this appointment and live 45 minutes away. Maybe she felt sorry for being completely rude to me, but she decided to give me her number and said she can get me in to the St Pete office next week, an hour and a half away from my house. This place is an absolute joke and completely unprofessional. If you have the ability to, look elsewhere. I wouldn’t trust these people with my medical care, they can’t even tell me the bare minimum items they need to assess me prior to an appointment.
The decision to undergo serious spinal surgery was not an easy one to make but with the doctors and technicians clear explanations and interpretation of my condition and liabilities that I faced in my 70’s I made the right choice. The two surgeries to fuse C 4-5-6 and perform a posterior laminectomy went flawlessly and follow on care and rehab were textbook! It was not easy nor quick but with the staffs guidance I’ve made an excellent recovery of my mobility and strength. Before surgery I was limited in movement on my right side, had constant pain in my neck, shoulders, back and numbness in the right hand. I can now drive again, go to work full time and enjoy life. This is not an easy pathway but it can work if you follow the doctors advice and commit to prescribed therapy. I would do it again knowing I had the Joseph Spine team with me.
I had a great first visit and felt optimistic. The doctor sent me to physical therapy and I was gonna get steroid shots. The shots were denied by my insurance. Which sucks and I complained to my insurance about that. I called the doctor’s office to find out what can be done now? Well 5 (could be more) left messages and no one has called me back. Physical therapy finished (I had 8 visits) and I again called to let them know that and no return call, I am now gonna go to the doctor the physical therapist recommended and it’s closer. Too bad a friend of mine recommended me to Joseph Spine and they let me down.
Joseph Spine, the hands of God that doctor is the best doctor For this type of procedures, I I barely felt anything I was skeptic and scared before I went in, but once I got started, it was a breeze. You just gotta breathe through it. everything I had the research on and heard from people all scared the hell out of me, but I pulled through it with no medicine no nothing I was good if you need a doctor for this type of procedure, Joseph Spine is the place to go like I said the hands of God. Thank you guys for everything you’ve done thank you doctor. I will be there for my next shot in two weeks, barely have any pain. It’s almost all gone. Thank you so much. I really appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. You guys are great. Keep up the good work, your staff, you guys are great. I’ll see you soon.
