I needed the breaker box for my hot water heater repaired/replaced so I could get my hot water working again, so I called Mr. Sparky. An electrician came out the very next day, and I will say he was very polite and professional. However, it quickly became clear that the focus was more on making a sale than fixing my actual issue. Instead of addressing the specific problem I called about, he performed a full electrical inspection of my home — something I neither requested nor wanted. Afterward, we sat down to discuss pricing, and he immediately began explaining financing options I had already said I wasn’t interested in. He then presented me with “should do,” “must do,” “could do,” and “today’s fix” options ranging from $2,000 to over $9,000. I decided to get a second opinion from a local independent licensed electrician. He fixed the exact issue in about two hours for $450. The same repair alone was quoted at $2,000 by Mr. Sparky. Based on my experience, it felt very much like the electricians are working on commission and encouraged to upsell as much as possible. That was disappointing, especially when I simply needed my hot water restored. Unfortunately, I would not use this company again.

Jamal and Irvin came to replace all the electrical sockets and switches in my house. They replaced all the backstabbing installed devices with new hardware and wired them correctly. Both electricians were professional, knowledgeable, efficient, and very pleasant to deal with. AND they cleaned up everything completely before they left. I am very satisfied with the job they did.

Eduardo with Mr Sparky was awesome! Arrived early & was extreme knowledgeable. He did a throughout investigation prior to giving us a quote. Quote was very fair! I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing electrical work .

Mr. Sparky is Mr. Shady. A typical, a bait and switch. I was told I need a premium re-device for my home. No products they use can be purchased off the shelf, like those at Home Depot. They literally went to Home Depot to get more outlets. Lie number 2 was that the outlets would be pig-tailed; the apprentice working didn't know what a pigtail was, and attaching wire directly was the same thing. So, my $ 13,000 quote was for Apprentices to work - cheap labor at an expensive price. Another shady thing was that my A/C stopped working after they left. The manager said he would call a tech for free, but still charged me a $89 trip fee. Its interesting an electrical company also has One Hour Air. They must have been trying to get even more money out of me. I expressed my concerns to the salesperson, who said he couldn't help me. The boss spoke with me and said they take pride in what they do. Obviously, based on prices. He also said he would call and follow up. Never did. Buyer beware. Bait and switch. Pun intended.

A smooth salesman rolled in and lit into a very high-pressure pitch for a $25k job, insisting my family was in danger. He did not fix the issue I called for. Another electrician (In Phaze) corrected all issues and got my house to code for less than a quarter of the price. I chalked it up to an isolated incident, only to find out that my great aunt, at 90 years old, had the exact same experience a couple years ago. Clearly their business model is to upsell drastically and snag only huge jobs. This is what happens when private equity owns your company.
