Reviews
Regular diners, food is excellent! And all items in this GF review are available in non-GF options. Gluten-Free diners, this is the restaurant for us!!! With a committed fryer for GF and GF pizza crusts stored in the refrigerator until needed, even celiac’s can feel comfortable eating here. The GF menu is HUGE. Starting with hot GF bread in a separate basket from the hot, regular bread, butter is an option, but try it with their basil infused olive oil. Salads are large and their creamy garlic dressing is for every garlic lover. Take advantage of the committed celiac fryer, French fries are brought to the table golden brown and crunchy hot. Owner stops by multiple times to check on you during your dinner, making sure you have everything you need and answering all questions about the food. Wait staff is punctual, friendly and doesn’t miss any details to service. GF Chicken Vesuvio pairs a rich olive oil with oregano, making you think about summer gardens and is so generously portioned, you definitely go home with leftovers. GF Spaghetti Parma’s rich, creamy sauce made from fresh cream, prosciutto, fresh mushrooms and peas, is such a comfort food, you get at least two days of “warm fuzzy” feelings from this dish because of the portion size. And no matter how full you are at this point, DO NOT skip the GF Goosey Cake (not a typo). Hot, gooey, GF chocolate brownie cake, topped with a cream cheese layer, ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate sauce drizzle, this is the GF dessert gluten-free patrons dream of. Embarrassingly, we ate it so quickly once it hit the table, that the only photo captured was of the empty plate. Traverso’s is one of those rare restaurants that literally gets every single thing right!
First time coming here, and let me just say… It was fabulous. The restaurant was clean, everyone was friendly, the food was delicious. My husband and I could’ve easily split a medium pizza and a salad and that would’ve been enough. We will definitely come back. Our waitress Char was so energetic and friendly. Very personality was amazing. She did an amazing job!
Traverso’s continues to get it right! Our party of four was greeted warmly by the hostess and seated in a comfortable dining room. Our server was friendly, patient, and knew the menu inside and out. The garlic salad dressing was outstanding. We enjoyed the pork chop with peppers, shrimp over angel hair, and two other entrees. Portions were huge—every one of us took food home. The menu has something for everyone, from sandwiches and pizza to full Italian dinners. Good wine list and very reasonable prices. What impressed me most was seeing the owner or manager checking on tables throughout the meal. Not just going through the motions—you could tell he genuinely cared about the guest experience. Family-owned, ample parking, generous portions, and great service. No wonder Traverso’s has been a Naperville favorite for so many years.
First time trying this place, and we were really impressed. The restaurant was clean with a great atmosphere. The appetizers were the standout—super tender calamari and shrimp packed with flavor. The soups and salads were also delicious. Dinner was good with generous portions, but the apps were definitely the highlight of the meal.
I ordered take out. Was excited for the gnocchi with meat sauce and the minestrone soup. Got home and they had packaged a salad instead of soup and the gnocchi with meat sauce might be the worst I've ever had. I had a few bites and ended up doordashing something else from somewhere else. Visiting from out of town and definitely not driving 20 minutes back to this place to deal with the problem.
