Our Australian Shepherd mix, Steele, loves going to Tropic Paws. His grooming was impeccable today and they followed all directions. He looks handsome and is so happy. They are also great for overnight stays when we go out of town. He loves his playmates and they take great care of him. The staff is friendly and the Owner is wonderful!
I called Tropic Paws shortly after opening on Monday to ask if I needed an appointment for a quick puppy nail trim. The girl upfront told me, "No, walk-ins are welcome from 10 to 4." Simple enough. I packed up my 18-week-old puppy and my boyfriend, and we arrived around 1:30 PM. The moment we walked in, the vibe was instantly hostile. When I said I was there for a nail trim, the girl upfront asked if I had an appointment. When I reminded her that I had called earlier and she herself told me walk-ins were welcome, the groomer in the back threw some serious attitude. The tension was palpable. We nervously laughed it off, confused as to why there was so much attitude when there was literally only one other dog in the facility being groomed. It only got worse from there: We had to do their job: The receptionist decided she was going to clip the nails. She lowered the table all the way to the floor, forcing my boyfriend to get down on his knees to hold our puppy. We aren't dog groomers, yet we were doing the heavy lifting. We even had to take a break because his knees were hurting from being on the floor so long. Zero transparency & distress: After about 5 minutes, the employee decided she’d be "better off" without us in the room. We went to the waiting area and had to listen to our poor puppy scream and cry. About 20 minutes later, we noticed the actual groomer finally stepped in to help her. Injuring the puppy: When they finished, the groomer casually informed us she had "accidentally" cut his nail to the quick and it was bleeding all over. We understand accidents happen and tried to remain incredibly nice and considerate, despite the rude greeting we received. A 20-minute checkout disaster: My boyfriend took our bleeding puppy outside, and I went to pay. I then had to sit there for another 20 minutes while these two employees ran around frantically trying to figure out how much a basic nail trim even costs. First it was $15, then $15.99... I just wanted to pay for a service I mostly performed and get out of there. To management: Please feel free to check your cameras from Monday afternoon. You will see the exact shenanigans and utter lack of professionalism your employees displayed. The groomer was rude from the second we walked in, the communication was nonexistent, and the checkout process was a joke. Horrible experience. We will absolutely not be back.
I’m so glad we found Tropic Paws! My puppy, Beau, attends day camp a couple times a week and is exhausted when we get home. A tired puppy is a good puppy. He has also been boarded, and he’s gotten a bath and nail trim. His bath was so good. He is the softest any of my dogs has ever been, and I’ve had dogs for 30 years. He is always excited to go play with his friends, and the staff is super helpful. Highly recommend!
This place is so cute! Everything i needed for good self wash for my pup. The staff is very friendly and were good to my house hippo with lots of love and cookies.
My dog Benji goes to Tropic Paws for daycare and grooming and we absolutely love it! Benji is a friendly but under confident rescue dog so we need people who understand and are patient with his needs, Ashley and the team at Tropic is all this and more! Benji gets groomed with Toni and she is sooo patient and good to him at every appointment! The daycare team is also so great with him, the only place I’d feel safe leaving my boy, always recommend to all my dog mom friends! They truly care and go above and beyond for every pup!
