We dinned for a special occasion. I made reservations ahead of time and got an excellent table with a nice view. However the sunset was blocked by the beach houses. It was quiet and easy to have a conversation. Our server did a great job and was very attentive. We ordered a bread bowl with clam chowder but instead it came with toast. We were disappointed here. The soup had good flavor and was a good temperature. Mains course halibut and scallops were delicious. Prices were extremely high but since you’re by the ocean I guess that’s expected. Additionally the dirty chai does not taste like chai at all which make me question how it was made.
We had a lovely experience tonight with our server Cody (20+ years!) and Armando (45 years this May!) added highlights to a delicious meal. Says a lot to have employees who stay for 2 to 4 decades with an establishment! Ambiance was lovely of course and the food excellent. We love seeing and hearing the military planes flying by doing exercises as well.
Had a really nice large group meal here during the winter holiday season. The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable, and each person enjoyed their food. The beet salad, clam chowder (served in a mini-bread bowl), French fries were all great....and the seafood tower was amazing! Several people also had the espresso martini at end of meal and it was excellent also.
We love the Del but the Veranda is a hard NO! We chose this restaurant to celebrate our 44th anniversary, and unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the most disappointing dining experiences we’ve ever had. Not only was it ridiculously overpriced, but the quality simply didn’t come close to matching the cost. The service was just okay at best—our waiter repeatedly forgot things, which became frustrating as the evening went on. The food, however, was the biggest letdown. My filet was barely a 2-inch square, and the so-called “whole lobster” was chewy, tasteless, and so tiny they brought out three of them—each no bigger than a small shrimp. For the price we paid, this was unacceptable. On a positive note, my wife did enjoy the beet salad, but that was the only highlight of the entire meal. Overall, this was a very, very disappointing experience. Save your money. There are far better places to celebrate a special occasion.
The food was good and the atmosphere was great. I ordered a French75 and crab cakes, my husband enjoyed the dungeness crab wedge salad. It was busy but our waiter was informative and efficient; or expediency was seamless.
